A Split Air Conditioner (AC) is a type of air conditioning system that consists of two main units: an indoor unit (evaporator) and an outdoor unit (condenser). It’s one of the most common types of air conditioning systems used in homes, offices, and commercial spaces because it is efficient, quiet, and effective in cooling spaces without the need for ductwork.
How a Split AC Works
Indoor Unit: This is mounted inside the room and contains the evaporator coil, which absorbs heat from the room. The indoor unit also houses the air filter and a fan that circulates the cooled air into the room.
Outdoor Unit: This is installed outside the building and contains the compressor and condenser coil. The outdoor unit is responsible for releasing the absorbed heat into the atmosphere and compressing the refrigerant to cool it down before sending it back to the indoor unit.
Refrigerant: The refrigerant circulates between the indoor and outdoor units. It absorbs heat from the room in the indoor unit, transfers it to the outdoor unit, and releases it outside. The cooled refrigerant then flows back into the indoor unit to absorb more heat.
